Yapp 2.0 NewsMajor changesIn 1.0 we were relentless; we forced every one to use rule based planning. All project items had to have resources that had a schedule. We lost a lot of potential users that way, but it made us standout and that was good. We still are firm believers of rule based planning, but now, when we have proved our point we can be a little more forgiving. We introduce the concept ResCalc (short for resource calculation). ResCalc possible values: End; this is the analogous to how Yapp 1.1 worked; project items end date is calculated from given start date and length. Start; project items start date is calculated from given end date and length. No Calc; project items are not calculated, you are free to set start and stop as you like, great for early stages of planning while you are still doodling around.
Part time commitment; Throw in jobs that should be handled part time, a percentage of available time
Slots; Naming slots gives you an opportunity to control how ResCalc finds time items in the resource schema
Resource cost; an hourly cost per resource is a must for the overall cost calculation of the project.
Economy diagram; new great looking diagrams that show planned, reported, budget, active and idle resources.
Budget; add a budget to your project so that you easily can follow up differences to planned or reported usage of resources
Report of work done; report back to Yapp how much work that actually got done. These values are then used in the plot of the economy diagram
Project item dialog; the Gantt-Grid was big; we made a dialog per project item and put some of the settings there.
Dependency settings; the new project item dialog we found a perfect place to let you remove single dependencies and control color, and rendering options. Start to Start, Start to Finish, Finish to Start and Finish to Finish dependencies supported.

"I looked at the competitions..., but they did not have nearly the programming depth and granular control that your product offers to a developer. This product is definitely well worth the money (and effort to learn it)." |
